busuu.com in Top 3 of best website of the year award!

busuu.com has been nominated as Top 3 candidate for the Spanish Award “Premios de Internet” to become the best website of the year! This award is organized by the Spanish Association of Internet users since 1997 and it recognizes websites which have significantly contributed to the development and good use of internet. More than 560 websites applied from all over the world and we are very proud that busuu.com made it to the TOP 3! The winner is defined by the number of votes received (1/3 of votes come from users, 2/3 from a selected jury) so we still need your vote:

Radio interview for the “Radio Nacional de España”

Today, I had the chance to give a short interview for the Spanish National Radio for the programme “Otros Acentos”.

Within this program, different immigrants who currently live here in Spain, are interviewed each week to speak about their personal experience in this country. And this week they needed someone from Austria! ;-)

Besides my honest love confession for the Spanish “marcha” I had the chance to speak as well about our project busuu.com! You can listen to the interview here.

busuu.com has a new home!

After having had the typical start-up office atmosphere (meaning having no office at all) for several weeks, we have now decided to finally “settle down”.

We have found a wonderful office location next to Madrid’s famous Retiro park, which is kind of the green lung of the city.

So there is nothing more to refrain us from nice rollerblade action in the park after a day of heavy coding! :-)

We have finally founded our company!

Tataaaaaaaaaa….YES, it took the Spanish bureaucracy only 4 weeks to finally let us found our company! :-) And we only had to re-write the foundation contract two times as BUSUU is apparently not so easy to write correctly! ;-)

But anyway…now this important step is done and there is nothing more to hold us back in order to conquer the world of language learning!
