busuu.com is a partner in the MASELTOV project for migrant integration!

busuu.com has always upheld great missions such as saving endangered languages, or recently fighting against social exclusion. This is why busuu.com is participating in a European project to help the social integration of immigrants in the European society. busuu.com is one of the 14 partners from all over Europe working together to reduce the risks of social exclusion and ensure the bridging of cultural differences.

Immigrants represent a substantial part of the European information society. In 2005, 1.8 million people or 85% of the European population growth immigrated from outside Europe. MASELTOV, which stands for Mobile Assistance for Social Inclusion and Empowerment of Immigrants with Persuasive Learning Technologies and Social Network Services, identifies the huge potential of mobile services for promoting integration and cultural diversity in Europe.

In fact, the project, with its interdisciplinary partners, aims at researching and developing new ICT instruments that evolve around and take advantage of what mobile phones can offer to facilitate and foster local community building, raising consciousness and knowledge for the bridging of cultural differences. MASELTOV with a representative application of most essential and beneficial information and learning services, such as ubiquitous language translation, navigation, administrative and emergency health services will enable a massive social impact on the future with respect to more cooperative, more successful integration of millions of migrants living with hundreds of millions cohabitating European citizens.

busuu.com and its partners in the education and technology fields will be developing the language learning aspect of this project. busuu.com will provide language learning on the go, knowing that it currently offers similar services with its mobile applications. The language learning content will be offered in a customized manner taking into account place, time and need.

We are very happy to be part of this extraordinary project and we are proud to play a positive role in creating cultural bridges with language learning.
