We did it! How You Helped Build a Classroom in Cameroon

busuu Premium members helped to build a class in Cameroon for 40 kids and 2 teachers. Go team!

For every Premium subscription sold between the 21st November and 24th December we donated to CAPEC (Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child) a non-governmental, non-profit organisation that works to identify the needs of underprivileged children.

As dedicated language learners, we know how important access to education is. It goes beyond switching on our phones and learning on the go – the school, located in a remote farming village in Central Cameroon, is a vital, physical location.

Many families cannot send their children to schools further away from the family home so this school provides a safe environment to learn, play and grow.

busuu has been collaborating with the charity since 2009. Over the years our customers have helped raise money towards a new school, educational materials and tutoring for children.

So, thank you – and let’s see if we can keep building on what we’ve achieved so far.
