A big thank you from us at busuu and CAPEC

Back in December, we thanked you for helping us to raise money for a school for up to 350 orphans and children from low-income families in Cameroon. Now we’re excited to share with you a photo of one of the new fully-equipped classrooms that we helped to build!

For every Premium subscription sold between 15th and 25th of December 2017 we made a donation to CAPEC (Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child), a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of child welfare. CAPEC addresses issues such as education, poor living conditions, child abuse and the lack of basic human rights. The money we raised is also going towards renovating other parts of the school and improving its facilities.

busuu has been collaborating with the charity since 2009. Over the years we’ve helped to build new classrooms and helped to provide educational materials and tutoring for children at the school in Nkolfouloua, a remote farming village in central Cameroon. This school provides a safe environment for children whose families cannot send them to other schools in different cities.

Thanks again from everyone at busuu, CAPEC and from the children in Cameroon!
